
Dimitrios T Karamitsos

Dimitrios T Karamitsos was born in Thessaloniki in 1941.
He graduated first in his class from the Medical School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 1965.
He specialized in Internal Medicine at the University Hospital AHEPA, Thessaloniki (1970–1973).
He completed postgraduate training in Diabetology in London (1974–1975).
He was appointed Full Professor at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 2003 and held this position until 2008.
He is currently an Emeritus Professor of Medicine. In addition to numerous medical publications, he has authored six scientific books and nine non-medical ones. He has also published many letters and essays in respected non-medical newspapers and magazines.
