Kyriakos Katharios

Kyriakos Katharios was born in Kechrokambos, of the Kavala Prefecture (Greece) in 1964. He graduated from the Economics Faculty of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. His articles focusing on economic issues were published in the journal  Oikonomikos Tachydromos (Economic Journal).  In 1993 Paratiritis Publisher in Thessaloniki published his first book titled I Apomakri Melodia Tou Minofonoy,(The Distant Melody of  Minofon)  a book of  stories imbued with  humor about the author’s  military service. The newspaper Eleftherotypia dedicated a column called “Where Are You Going Recruit?” to the book.  In 1994 he enlisted as a volunteer soldier in the Serbian-Bosnian Army and participated in the Bosnian War on the side of the Bosnian  Serbs in the trenches of the  Igman mountain range in central Bosnia and Herzegovina. In 2001 his book  To Taxidi Tou Ethelonti (The Journey of the Volunteer) was published by ERODIOS Publisher in Thessaloniki and was based on his experiences in the war. The book was translated into Serbian and circulated in Serbia-Montenegro in 2003.  The second edition was published  by PELASGOS in  2007 in Athens, Greece.  Kyriakos Katharios is involved in the Macedonian Question in speeches and advocacy journalism specifically on the internet in support of the rights of Hellenism.  The Macedonian Bible is his third book and focuses specifically on Macedonia and the Macedonian Question.
